Invitation to the European Forum Alpbach

On the initiative of the Standortagentur Tirol, we will present ourselves at the Technology Talks at the European Forum Alpbach as an industrial partner of the highly promising COMET project smart@surface.

At the start of this year's Technology Talks at the European Forum Alpbach, the Standortagentur Tirol will give an insight into developments in Tyrol as a technology location at a technology brunch.

An invitation to Alpbach is like a knighthood, at least in our latitudes. From the 15th August on, nearly all major players in politics, business and academia will be present there at the talks and forums. One highlight are the two-day Technology Talks, which this year will also focus on diversity and resilience. As a traditional prelude to the Technology Talks on 23th August, the Standortagentur Tirol will host the Tyrolean Technology Brunch, at which Tyrol's Regional Economic Councillor Patrizia Zoller-Frischauf will provide information on new R&D projects with a digital focus in order to present Tyrol as a technology location. One of this year's showcase projects is the nationwide COMET project "smart@surface", in which we can demonstrate our expertise in high-precision injection moulding under the aegis of consortium leader Joanneum Research from Weiz, together with Swarovski Optik, and others.

COMET stands for Competence Centers for Excellent Technologies and is a current funding offer of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency FFG. In the COMET project "smart@surface" a very broad consortium of experts from research and industry is working on the development of highly functional foils. These foils will be able to react to pressure, heat or light, which means that control elements, motion detectors and sensors can be integrated directly into the surface of an object. The task of our company will be to "back-mould" the foils in such a way that directly usable components can be produced from them, which will of course revolutionise the product development of various devices from the ground up. We are therefore highly delighted that we are now able to bring our know-how to the attention of the national high-tech and business community in Alpbach.
